Cultural Boost

Who? 25 participants, from two countries: Poland and Italy

Where and when? Bosco Chiesanuova, Italy- from 8 to 15 October 2023

What? Mobility combine culture and becoming independent.

In this project we organised mobility with organization “Oriel” from Italy for project “Cultural Boost”.

The mobility in Italy was focused on the topic of becoming independent, self-sufficient and in pursuit of one’s goals and objectives even in the face of adversity. We look at this issue through the lens of culture and the current political and social issues which impact our understanding of independence. Mostly we challenged some stereotypical attitudes held by youth through giving them the opportunity to experience cultures other than their own. We believe that this project was an opportunity to spark a natural interest in the topic of diversity and inclusion on a more international level. Through this we promoted attitudes of tolerance for diversity.

During the mobility we:

1.Took part in integration activities.

2.Shared our cultures during international nights. Youth presented information about their local cultures.

3.Learn about similarities and differences between our cultures through various fun activities – improv, games, etc.

4.Got to know Italy through various fun activities outside (nature hikes, trips to the city, etc.)

5.Took part in evaluation sessions. Everyone wrote a short summary of the skills they have worked on during the exchange.

6.Improved our language skills

During the mobility we were working on:

1.Obtaining a deeper cultural awareness and exploring cultural diversity.

2.Supporting youth in gaining a deeper cultural awareness and especially national cuisine.

3.Strengthening social dialogue on the issues of social inclusion and tolerance.

4.Increasing self-esteem and feelings for self-worth.

5.Gaining skills necessary for more independence in adult life – ie. traveling independently, planning projects, time management;

6.Building confidence, self-worth, sense of initiative and responsibility for one’s actions,

7.Strengthening language skills which will allow project participants to become active members of the EU community and seek other international project opportunities.
