Safe Internship
Our youth participated in the “Safe Internship” program organized by the Robinson Crusoe Foundation. This initiative provided them with their first professional experiences in a safe and friendly corporate environment. For many participants, these internships were their first encounter with the job market and an opportunity to test themselves in a professional role.
The program aimed to develop social skills, teamwork abilities, increase self-confidence, and motivate them to plan their future careers. Through these internships, young people could assess whether their perceptions of different professions matched reality, how they would fare in new roles at various positions, and they had the chance to meet employees—friendly adults who demonstrated what the work entails.
At the companies, the youth could rely on mentors’ support, and from our Foundation, they received assistance from supervisors.
We maintained constant communication with the youth to answer their questions and resolve any difficulties that arose. We facilitated communication between the interns and mentors to stay informed about their work experiences, whether tasks were aligned with their preferences and skills, and how the collaboration between the youth and employers was progressing. The youth completed their internships at companies such as Aviva, PKP Energetyka, Thumos, Dentons, and Clifford Chance.
